Sliabh Candles was founded in 2023 with a simple idea: to create beautiful, meaningful candles that celebrate the Irish language, our culture and the places we call home.

The idea came from a simple challenge — finding thoughtful, beautifully made gifts as Gaeilge. We wanted to create something that felt genuinely Irish, something that could celebrate the language and traditions we love while making a lovely gift for someone special.

And so, Sliabh Candles was born.

A little piece of Connemara

Our name, Sliabh, comes from the stunning mountains that surround our workspace in the Connemara Gaeltacht. In summer, the mountains are covered in heather, creating a landscape of rich colour and natural beauty that has become a big part of our inspiration.

It's this sense of place that sits at the heart of Sliabh.

From the Irish words and familiar sayings we choose, to the scents we create and the way each candle is made, we're inspired by the character of Ireland and the beauty of the west.

When you light a Sliabh candle, we hope you feel a little bit of Ireland at home.

Made by hand, in small batches

Every Sliabh candle is hand-poured in small batches in Connemara, allowing us to give care and attention to every one.

We use 100% natural soy wax and carefully selected fragrances to create candles that burn beautifully and fill your home with a warm, inviting scent.

There's something special about knowing that what you're buying wasn't simply made on a production line. Each candle passes through our hands before it makes its way to yours.

From our Irish soy candles and wax melts to our decorative wax burners, everything we create is made with the same care, character and love of Ireland.
