Introducing Aimsir do Gheansaí – Our New Cosy Candle

It’s finally here… our newest cosy candle, Aimsir do Gheansaí. 🤎

Aimsir do Gheansaí translates as “jumper weather” — or, as we might more commonly say, sweater weather.

And if you love crisp autumn days, cosy evenings, woolly jumpers and warm, comforting scents, I think this one might be for you.

For the Love of a Good Geansaí

I wanted to do something a little different for our autumn candle this year, so I decided it was time for a new look and a completely new scent.

For me, autumn is all about cosy woolly jumpers, a hot cup of tea in hand, and settling on the couch with the kids while the fire is glowing.

When designing the label, I wanted something that felt truly traditional and Irish. I kept coming back to Aran sweaters and their beautiful, unmistakable patterns. There was something so perfect about the idea of bringing that familiar Irish knitwear into a candle inspired by jumper weather.

So, our new design was born, inspired by the beautiful detailing found in traditional Aran sweaters.

And the story became even more special during our photoshoot.

I was lucky enough that my father-in-law, who is from the beautiful island of Inis Mór, had a genuine handmade Aran jumper that his mother made for him many years ago.

That very jumper features in the photos of our new Aimsir do Gheansaí candle.

I love that something handmade, with its own family history, has now become part of the story of this candle too.

A warm and cosy scent

The fragrance is something completely different from anything we’ve created before.

It has such a lovely warmth to it — the kind of scent that feels like a cosy jumper hug.

Think of crisp autumn days walking through the woods, rich and earthy cedarwood, the warmth of amber, spicy clove and a gentle sweetness of vanilla.

Warm, woody, earthy and comforting.

It’s the candle equivalent of putting on your favourite knitted jumper and settling in for the evening.

Made for cosy autumn moments

Aimsir do Gheansaí is perfect for lighting in the hallway to welcome guests, enjoying beside the fire on a cosy evening, or bringing a little warmth to autumn birthdays and celebrations.

It’s a scent for those little moments when you want your home to feel extra warm, welcoming and cosy.

Aimsir do Gheansaí goes live at 6pm this Thursday.
